Type 212CD Submarine (Germany-Norway)

Overview

Next-generation submarine being developed jointly by Norway and Germany to replace both nations' aging submarine fleets. Based on the German Type 212A with significant enlargement for Norwegian requirements. Features hydrogen fuel cell AIP propulsion enabling extended submerged operations. Norwegian designation Type 212 NOR. First vessel expected around 2032-2035.
