Overview
Morocco has procured OPV-70 offshore patrol vessels from Damen for exclusive economic zone enforcement, border patrol, and anti-smuggling operations. The OPV-70 (Offshore Patrol Vessel, 70 metres) is a modern lightly armed vessel optimized for sustained offshore patrol with good seakeeping and endurance. Morocco uses the OPVs to supplement its combat vessels in monitoring the Atlantic and Mediterranean approaches, interdicting illegal fishing, drug trafficking, and migration flows. The Damen design is known for reliability and efficiency.
