Overview

The Nongo (or Kongbang) class is North Korea's primary hovercraft assault platform, combining a wave-piercing hull with an air cushion propulsion system. These vessels are designed to rapidly transport special forces across the shallow inter-Korean coastal areas and land directly on beaches. North Korea operates dozens of these craft in its Light Infantry Landing Vessels. Their stealth features (low radar cross-section) and high speed make them difficult to intercept during a surprise assault scenario.
