Overview
Battle-proven medium-endurance tactical UAV that has been the workhorse of Israeli tactical ISR for over two decades. Named "Zik" (Spark) in IAF service. Features a 10.5-metre wingspan with a Rotax engine, endurance of 17+ hours, and maximum altitude of 18,000 feet. Payload capacity of 180 kg supporting EO/IR sensors, laser designator, communications relay, and in some configurations, precision-guided munitions for armed reconnaissance. The Hermes 450 has accumulated hundreds of thousands of operational flight hours across numerous conflicts and operations. The platform formed the basis for the Watchkeeper WK450, which was developed for and operated by the British Army under a UK-Israel cooperation agreement. Exported to more than 15 nations worldwide. The Hermes 450 is considered one of the most combat-experienced UAV platforms in history, with continuous operational deployment since the early 2000s.
