BTR-4 Bucephalus APC

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL SISTEMA

Ukrainian 8x8 wheeled armored personnel carrier representing significant advancement over Soviet-era BTR designs with improved armor, firepower, and crew ergonomics. BTR-4 (named after Alexander the Great's horse) features modular armor providing STANAG Level 3-4 ballistic protection with add-on modules for higher threats, spall liner protecting crew from armor fragments, mine protection under hull, amphibious capability with hydrojet propulsion, independent suspension for improved ride, and modern automotive components. Weight of 20 tonnes. Armed with BM-7 Parus unmanned turret mounting 30mm ZTM-1 autocannon, 7.62mm coaxial machine gun, and potentially anti-tank missiles. Carries 7 dismounts plus 3 crew. Powered by 500 hp diesel providing road speed of 100 km/h and range of 700 km. Night vision, modern communications, and digital displays. Development began 2000s with first deliveries to Ukrainian armed forces 2009-2014. Exported to Iraq (420+ vehicles) making BTR-4 one of few successful Ukrainian defense exports. Production disrupted by Russian invasion with Kharkiv under frequent bombardment, but manufacturing continued. Represents Ukrainian armor industry modernizing Soviet legacy designs.
