MKEK Yavuz Pistol
The MKEK Yavuz is a 9×19mm Parabellum semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Turkey's state-owned Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi Kurumu (MKEK). It is based on the Beretta 92 design under a licensing and technology transfer agreement. Standard issue to Turkish military officers, non-commissioned officers, and police. The Yavuz 16 compact variant serves as a concealed carry and plainclothes service pistol. It fires standard 9mm NATO ammunition and accepts 15-round magazines. As Turkey's primary issued sidearm, it reduces dependency on foreign-manufactured pistols for the armed forces.

- Domestically produced — no import dependency for standard military sidearm
- 9mm NATO standard — full logistics compatibility across NATO alliance
- Proven Beretta 92 action with established reliability record
- Compact Yavuz 16 variant serves police and plainclothes requirements
- Low unit cost due to domestic production volume
- Ergonomics and workmanship criticized in comparison to modern polymer pistols (Glock, Sig P320)
- Beretta 92 derived design — larger than modern compact service pistols
- Quality control variability reported in early production runs
- Limited export market appeal — dominated by established Western brands
- Being supplemented by newer SAR Arms B6P and Canik TP9 in some units
