Canada acquired 120 Leopard 2 (mix of A4 and upgraded A6M) from Netherlands and Germany 2007-2012 replacing aging Leopard 1. Combat experience in Afghanistan 2006-2011 demonstrating effectiveness and crew protection. Equips Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) armored regiment.
