ОБЗОР СИСТЕМЫ
The AN/TPY-2 is the primary radar component of the THAAD missile defense system and one of the most powerful mobile X-band radars in the world. In forward-based mode, it can detect and track ballistic missiles at ranges exceeding 1,000 km, providing early warning and cueing data to interceptors. In terminal mode, it provides fire control for THAAD interceptors. Its deployment in South Korea, Japan, and the Middle East has been strategically significant.
