Features twin turboprop propulsion, cargo ramp enabling vehicle loading, maximum payload of 11.5 tonnes, short takeoff and landing capability, and modern avionics. Range of 3,300 km. C-27J enables Kenyan airlift for peacekeeping deployments (AMISOM), domestic operations, humanitarian assistance, and VIP transport. Represents modern capability upgrading from older transports. Italian support provides training and maintenance.
