Overview
Véhicule Blindé Léger Mark 2 — an upgraded version of the proven VBL light armoured reconnaissance vehicle that has served the French Army since 1990. The 4x4 vehicle weighs approximately 5.5 tonnes with STANAG Level 2 protection and can mount a 12.7mm machine gun or Milan/Eryx anti-tank missile launcher. The Mk2 upgrade introduces improved engine and drivetrain, modernized electronics, SCORPION-compatible communications, and enhanced survivability features. Highly mobile with a top speed of 95 km/h and amphibious capability. Over 2,600 VBLs have been produced for France and export customers. Widely deployed in French overseas operations.
