Overview
The S-500 Prometheus represents the pinnacle of Russian air and missile defense technology. Designed primarily for anti-ballistic missile and anti-satellite warfare, it can reportedly intercept targets at ranges up to 600 km and altitudes of 200 km, including ICBMs in the terminal phase and low-Earth orbit satellites. It uses the 77N6 hit-to-kill interceptor and features a completely new radar suite.
