Overview
The DF-17 is the world's first operational missile system specifically designed to carry a hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV). The DF-ZF HGV separates from a medium-range ballistic missile booster and glides to its target at speeds above Mach 5 while maneuvering to evade missile defenses. With a range of approximately 1,800-2,500 km, it poses a significant threat to regional targets and carrier groups.
