Overview

Obsolete long-range surface-to-air missile system inherited from Soviet era. Approximately 1 battery remaining operational. Originally designed to engage high-altitude bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. Being phased out as S-300PS provides more capable coverage. Fixed deployment position makes it pre-targeted by adversaries.
