Country of Origin: Serbia
Manufacturer: Yugoimport-SDPR
Overview
Serbia's Miloš (4x4) and Lazar 3 (8x8) armored vehicle family represents the Yugoimport-SDPR defense industry's effort to replace aging Yugoslav-era vehicles with domestically designed protected platforms. The Lazar 3 is the more capable variant — an 8x8 wheeled APC with mine protection, modular armor, and capacity for 8-10 troops. It features a diesel engine providing 300+ km range, 100+ km/h road speed, central tire inflation for off-road use, and various weapon station options from 12.7mm HMG to 30mm autocannon. The Miloš is a 4x4 light protected vehicle for reconnaissance, command, and liaison roles. Both platforms have been deployed by Serbian forces and seen peacekeeping deployment in UN and EU missions, providing operational validation. Limited export success including regional customers has been achieved. The family demonstrates Serbian defense industrial aspiration to maintain indigenous armored vehicle capability — critical for a nation that cannot count on unconditional Western equipment supply given its Kosovo position.
