Overview
The M60T Sabra is an extensively modernized version of the M60A1 MBT, upgraded by Israeli Military Industries (IMI) for the Turkish Army. Key upgrades include a new 120mm smoothbore gun replacing the original 105mm rifled barrel, a modern fire control system with thermal imager and laser rangefinder, and a modular composite/reactive armor package. Approximately 170 Sabras are in service, providing the Turkish Army with a capable heavy armor force to complement the Leopard 2A4 fleet until the domestic Altay MBT is delivered in sufficient numbers.
