Joint Fire Support Missile (JFSM)
Type: missile
Domain: air
Country of Origin: France / UK / Italy / Germany
Manufacturer: MBDA
Overview
Stealthy precision-guided ground-attack missile under development to provide European armed forces with an indigenous 499 km-range stand-off strike capability. Designed to be launched from Eurofighter Typhoon and potentially other platforms. Features a low-observable airframe design, turbojet propulsion, and multi-mode seeker for high-precision terminal guidance against fixed and relocatable targets. The 499 km range is specifically chosen to remain below the former INF Treaty threshold. Intended to complement the longer-range Taurus KEPD 350 and provide a proportional, precise strike option against hardened targets, command nodes, and integrated air defense components. A German-led programme with potential multinational participation. Development is in the early design phase with operational capability expected in the early 2030s.
