Overview
The DF-5B is China's liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile, capable of striking targets anywhere in the world. As an upgraded DF-5A, the B-variant carries multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles (MIRVs) and serves as a silo-based nuclear deterrent. Despite being older technology, it remains a key component of China's strategic nuclear triad alongside road-mobile DF-41 and submarine-launched JL-2/JL-3.
