Overview
The BTR-80A is an upgraded wheeled APC variant featuring a new 30mm 2A72 autocannon replacing the original 14.5mm KPVT heavy machine gun. Algeria operates large numbers of BTR-80 and BTR-80A vehicles for infantry transport and fire support. The 30mm autocannon provides significantly improved firepower for direct fire support missions.
