AMX-13 Light Tank
Type: Light Tank
Domain: land
Country of Origin: France
Manufacturer: Arquus
First Deployed: 1953
Overview
The AMX-13 light tank remains in limited Ecuadorian service as a legacy armored vehicle. Originally designed for rapid airborne deployability and reconnaissance, Ecuador uses remaining examples in a training and reserve capacity. The oscillating turret with automatic loader was innovative for its era but the platform is fundamentally obsolete by modern standards.
