Overview
Morocco operates the AIM-120C AMRAAM (Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile) as the primary beyond-visual-range air-to-air weapon for its F-16 fleet. The AIM-120C features active radar guidance enabling fire-and-forget engagement — the launching aircraft can disengage after launch. This provides Moroccan F-16s with credible BVR capability against modern regional air threats. Morocco acquired AMRAAMs through US Foreign Military Sales with approvals contingent on regional security considerations.
