Rafael SPYDER Air Defense System
Israeli mobile air defense system procured by Kenya providing modern capability against aerial threats. Kenya ordered SPYDER (Surface-to-air PYthon and DERby) from Israel with deliveries beginning 2026. Features mobile launch vehicles firing Python-5 and Derby missiles with active radar guidance, range of 15-50+ km depending on missile, 360-degree coverage, and netted operation. SPYDER protects strategic installations, mobile forces, and provides area defense against aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and potentially cruise missiles.
