Spanish twin-turboprop tactical transport aircraft providing Egyptian Air Force with modern airlift capability for cargo, personnel, paratroop operations, medical evacuation, and maritime patrol missions. Egypt operates multiple C-295M with deliveries from 2010s onwards (exact numbers approximately 10-15 aircraft). Features modern glass cockpit with digital avionics, cargo hold with rear ramp enabling vehicle loading and airdrop operations, maximum payload of 9 tonnes or 71 troops, short takeoff and landing capability enabling operations from austere airfields, endurance exceeding 8 hours for maritime patrol missions, and potential fitment of maritime surveillance sensors. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127G turboprops providing cruise speed of 260 knots. Range of 1,300+ nautical miles with full payload. Egyptian C-295M conducts tactical airlift supporting army operations in Sinai and border regions, maritime patrol over Mediterranean and Red Sea approaches monitoring shipping and potential threats, special operations support, humanitarian assistance, and medical evacuation. Complements larger transport aircraft (C-130H Hercules) providing flexible airlift capability. Proven reliability and low operating costs. Future potential additional orders expanding fleet for increased airlift capacity supporting Egyptian military operations and peacekeeping deployments.
