TA-50 Golden Eagle
Combat-capable advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft, the tactical variant of Korea's highly successful T-50 supersonic trainer family. Bridges the gap between advanced training and operational combat with a full weapons delivery capability including precision-guided munitions, air-to-air missiles, and a 20mm internal gun. Features a Lockheed Martin-derived tandem cockpit with glass displays, hands-on throttle-and-stick (HOTAS), embedded training system, and tactical datalink. Powered by a single GE F404-102 engine. The T-50 family (T-50, TA-50, FA-50) has been one of Asia's most successful military aerospace programmes with over 200 aircraft produced. Used by the Republic of Korea Air Force as the primary lead-in fighter trainer with secondary light attack tasking, preparing pilots for transition to F-16 and KF-21 frontline fighters.

- Same F404 engine as F/A-18
- HOTAS layout for 4th-gen transition
- Indonesia, Philippines, Iraq, Thailand operators
- Day/night all-weather avionics
- Higher cost than propeller trainers
- US engine ITAR dependency
- No AESA radar in T-50/TA-50
- Not certified for live weapons delivery (TA-50 light attack version does carry weapons)
