Magura V5 Unmanned Surface Vessel
Ukrainian indigenously-developed unmanned surface vessel (USV) designed for long-range strike against Russian Black Sea Fleet — representing revolutionary asymmetric naval warfare. Magura V5 is a 5.5-metre semi-submersible craft with displacement of approximately 1 tonne, maximum speed of 40+ knots (75 km/h), operational range exceeding 800 km, warhead capacity of 300+ kg high-explosive, satellite communication for beyond-line-of-sight control, electro-optical/infrared cameras for terminal guidance, and stealthy low-profile design making radar detection difficult. The craft operates semi-autonomously with waypoint navigation and remote operator control for final attack. Magura V5 achieved combat success sinking or damaging multiple Russian naval vessels including corvettes, landing craft, and patrol boats in 2023-2024 operations. Notable successes include damaging the Sergey Kotov patrol ship (March 2024) and attacking vessels in Sevastopol harbor. The USV provides Ukraine with strike capability against Russian naval forces despite Ukraine lacking conventional navy after Russia seized vessels in 2014. Production details remain classified but evidence suggests serial production. Represents future of asymmetric naval warfare.

- 320kg warhead — highly lethal vs ships
- 42-knot attack speed
- Semi-submersible — low radar cross-section
- Proven in combat vs Russian Black Sea Fleet
- Low cost vs anti-ship missiles
- Kamikaze — single use expendable
- Sea state limits operations
- Electronic jamming vulnerability
- Detectable by thermal/EO sensors at close range
- Ukraine production constrained by war
