EE-9 Cascavel (Modernized)

Brazilian 6x6 wheeled armored fighting vehicle armed with 90mm gun — indigenous design from 1970s-80s maintained through comprehensive modernization providing continued service. EE-9 Cascavel (Rattlesnake) developed by now-defunct Brazilian company Engesa achieving significant export success with approximately 1,500 produced for Brazil and export customers. Brazilian Army operates approximately 400+ EE-9 across variants. Recognition of continued utility prompted modernization programme upgrading fire control systems with modern thermal imaging sights and laser rangefinders replacing original optical sights, ballistic computer, digital electronics, communications systems, and potentially improved armor.
