Armement Air-Sol Modulaire (AASM) / Highly Agile Modular Munition Extended Range — a precision-guided, rocket-boosted stand-off weapon kit that transforms standard Mk 82 (250 kg) and Mk 83 (1,000 kg) bomb bodies into all-weather precision strike munitions. The SBU-54 variant combines INS/GPS with semi-active laser and infrared terminal guidance for sub-metre accuracy against moving targets. The rocket booster provides a range of up to 70 km when released at altitude, with a powered glide trajectory. Uniquely capable of steep terminal dive angles for reduced collateral damage. Carried in clusters of six on Rafale (three per wing station). Extensively combat-proven in Libya, Mali, Iraq, and Syria.
