Overview
The Tor-M2E is a Russian short-range air defense system designed specifically to counter precision-guided munitions, cruise missiles, UAVs, and aircraft at low and medium altitudes. It fires the 9M338K vertically launched missile to a range of 12 km and altitude of 10 km, with a reaction time of 5-7 seconds. The fully autonomous system can engage up to four targets simultaneously while on the move. Azerbaijan fields the Tor-M2E for organic air defense of maneuver brigades, protecting armored formations from aerial attack during movement and combat operations.
