SLC-2 Counter-Battery Radar
Type: Counter-Battery Radar
Domain: land
Country of Origin: China
Manufacturer: CETC
First Deployed: 2018
Overview
The SLC-2 is a Chinese Ku-band counter-battery radar developed by CETC, designed to detect and track incoming mortar rounds, artillery shells, and rockets, then calculate the firing position for return fire. With an acquisition range of 50 km for rockets and 40 km for artillery, it can simultaneously process multiple incoming trajectories and hand off targeting data to artillery fire control systems. Bangladesh acquired SLC-2 radars to enhance its counter-battery capability, allowing rapid artillery response to incoming fire and improving overall fire support coordination for maneuver forces.
