Overview
Poland's Patriot acquisition under the Wisła (Vistula) programme is the largest ever procurement in Polish defence history (~$15B total). Phase I delivered 2 Patriot batteries with PAC-3 MSE interceptors and PAC-2 GEM-T missiles with AN/MPQ-65A phased array radar. Phase II will deliver additional batteries integrated with the IBCS (Integrated Battle Command System) networking architecture and additional sensors. The PAC-3 MSE (Missile Segment Enhancement) uses hit-to-kill kinetic energy interception with 60+ km range against aircraft and cruise missiles. PAC-2 GEM-T extends coverage to 160+ km against aircraft. The system provides area air/missile defence for Polish strategic centres and NATO eastern flank assets.
