KN-09 300mm Guided MLRS
Type: Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System
Domain: land
Country of Origin: North Korea
Manufacturer: Korean Peoples Army Munitions Industry
First Deployed: 2014
Overview
The KN-09 is North Korea's most capable multiple launch rocket system, using 300mm caliber rockets with claimed GPS guidance. With a stated range of approximately 200 km, it can cover virtually all of South Korea from DMZ-adjacent positions. The system represents a significant capability upgrade from the unguided BM-21, though the actual precision of the guidance system has not been independently verified. If the guidance claims are accurate, it would provide a precision strike capability far exceeding conventional MLRS.
