Overview
Egyptian indigenously-developed tracked multiple launch rocket system providing long-range precision fires capability representing significant achievement in Egyptian defense industry. Deterrence 300 (Arabic: Rad' 300) developed by Egyptian Military Production Ministry unveiled publicly at defense exhibitions 2020s with production beginning. Features tracked chassis providing mobility across desert terrain, modular launcher accommodating various rocket types including 122mm and potentially larger calibers, range estimates of 90-100+ km depending on rocket type, GPS/INS guidance on precision-guided variants, automated fire control system, shoot-and-scoot capability with rapid displacement, and integration with Egyptian command and control networks. Crew of 3-4. Egyptian Deterrence 300 provides artillery brigades with capability to engage enemy concentrations, logistics, air defense, and command posts at extended ranges beyond tube artillery. The tracked configuration enables operation alongside mechanized forces in combined arms operations. Indigenous development represents Egyptian priority for technological independence in rocket artillery avoiding dependence on foreign suppliers like Chinese or Russian systems. Potential export opportunities to African and regional partners. Technology potentially adapted from foreign systems with Egyptian improvements. Future variants may include extended range rockets, cruise missile derivatives, and improved guidance systems. Represents Egyptian artillery modernization complementing tube artillery and creating layered fires architecture.
