Overview
The DANA is a 152mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer developed in Czechoslovakia in the 1970s, mounted on a Tatra 8x8 truck chassis. It fires standard Warsaw Pact 152mm projectiles to a maximum range of approximately 18.7 km. The crew of four operates from an armored cab. Azerbaijan has modernized some DANA systems with improved fire control. The wheeled chassis provides good strategic mobility for an artillery system, useful in Azerbaijan's varied terrain between the plains and Caucasus foothills.
