Overview
Fifth-generation man-portable anti-tank guided missile representing the cutting edge of infantry anti-armor capability with multi-sensor guidance, networking, and extended range. Akeron MP (formerly MMP - Missile Moyenne Portée) features dual-mode seeker combining infrared imaging and semi-active laser homing, enabling engagement in all weather and light conditions, fire-and-forget or man-in-the-loop control, lock-on-before-launch or lock-on-after-launch for targets beyond line of sight when cued by UAVs or forward observers, range exceeding 4,000 metres (longest-range man-portable ATGM), top-attack or direct-attack flight profiles selectable based on target, and tandem-charge warhead penetrating 1,000+ mm armor behind reactive armor. Missile weight of 15 kg with system weight of 15.5 kg including reusable command launch unit with integrated thermal sight and ballistic computer. The system can be networked with other platforms, receiving target data from UAVs, helicopters, or armored vehicles and engaging beyond the operator's line of sight. Operated by French Army, Swedish Army (replacing Bill 2 and TOW), Belgian Army, Estonian Army, and others. Represents the future of ATGM with autonomous targeting and extended-range precision.
