Overview
The YJ-18 is a Chinese anti-ship cruise missile based on the Russian Kalibr design but with significant indigenous improvements. It features a subsonic cruise phase at Mach 0.8 and a supersonic terminal sprint at Mach 3, making it extremely difficult to intercept. Deployed from Type 052D and Type 055 destroyers as well as submarines, it represents a major advancement in Chinese naval strike capability.
