Overview
Driven Ammunition Reduced Time of flight — a family of precision-guided naval munitions designed for the Oto Melara 127/64 LW and 76/62 SR naval guns, providing surface combatants with GPS/INS-guided fire support at ranges far exceeding conventional ammunition. The 127mm Vulcano GLR (Guided Long Range) achieves ranges exceeding 70 km with semi-active laser terminal guidance for moving target engagement or GPS/INS for fixed targets — transforming the naval gun from an area weapon into a precision strike system. The 76mm variant achieves 40+ km range. The DART variant for the 76mm gun is a guided anti-missile/anti-aircraft round using radio-command guidance for CIWS-type defence. Adopted by Italy and Germany (PzH 2000), with multiple nations evaluating the system as a cost-effective alternative to guided missiles for many engagement scenarios.
