Overview
The Uran-9 is a Russian unmanned ground combat vehicle remotely operated via radio command. Armed with a 30mm 2A72 cannon, 4× 9M120-1 Ataka laser-beam-riding ATGMs, 6× Shmel-M thermobaric rocket launchers, and a 7.62mm PKT MG. Tested in Syria 2017-2018 where significant technical deficiencies were identified including communications dropouts, targeting failures, and control range limitations of ~300m in practice vs claimed 3 km. Designed for urban warfare reconnaissance and direct fire support ahead of manned elements. Combat deployment in Ukraine not confirmed at significant scale.
