Overview
The Type 45 Daring class is a class of air defense destroyers built for the Royal Navy. Equipped with the SAMPSON multifunction AESA radar and Sea Viper (PAAMS) missile system using Aster 15 and Aster 30 missiles, they provide the most advanced air defense capability in the Royal Navy. The class has experienced well-publicized propulsion issues that are being addressed through the PIP program.
