Overview
The Type 346A is a Chinese S-band AESA naval radar installed on Type 052D and Type 055 destroyers. Often compared to the American Aegis SPY-1, it provides 360-degree coverage through four fixed array panels and can simultaneously track hundreds of air, surface, and ballistic missile targets. The Type 346A represents a significant leap in Chinese naval radar capability and supports the HHQ-9 and HHQ-16 missile systems.
