Overview
Major mid-life upgrade of the Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopter designed to extend operational relevance to 2060. The Mk3 standard introduces the Strix NG electro-optical sight system, new Safran Aneto-1X engines with 25% more power, a digital backbone with open architecture avionics, Link 16 datalink, Spike ER2 missile integration alongside existing Hellfire and HOT3, and manned-unmanned teaming capability to control drones from the cockpit. France plans to upgrade 42 Tigers (HAD variant) to Mk3 standard. Germany has opted out, pursuing a separate upgrade path, while Spain will participate in the programme.
