Overview
Revolutionary four-panel fixed-array S-band AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) multifunction radar designed for the FDI Belharra frigate class. Provides simultaneous 360-degree surveillance, tracking, missile guidance, and horizon search with no mechanical rotation — a first for a European surface combatant radar of this class. Features GaN (Gallium Nitride) transmit/receive modules for high power output and reliability. Capable of detecting and tracking air, surface, and ballistic missile threats with fire-control quality tracks. Each fixed panel covers a 90-degree sector with electronic beam steering providing instantaneous sector coverage. Replaces the traditional rotating radar paradigm with a fully digital, software-defined architecture.
