SAMP/T NG (Mamba)

Overview

Sol-Air Moyenne Portée / Terrestre Nouvelle Génération — the next evolution of the European medium-range ground-based air defense system. Integrates the new Aster 30 B1NT missile with active radar seeker providing anti-ballistic missile capability against short and medium-range ballistic threats. The NG fire control system features the Thales Ground Fire 300 multifunction AESA radar with significantly improved detection range and tracking capacity. Each battery operates 8 Sylver A50 vertical launchers (32 missiles ready to fire). The system provides 360-degree coverage with a range exceeding 120 km and altitude ceiling above 20 km. Joint Franco-Italian programme with operational capability expected from 2028.
