Overview
Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) — selected by the Bundeswehr to replace the aging Transportpanzer Fuchs 1 in the protected mobility role. The Patria 6x6 is a modular wheeled armoured vehicle offering STANAG 4569 Level 3+ protection with mine blast protection and capacity for 12 troops plus 2 crew. Features a modular architecture supporting multiple mission variants including personnel carrier, command post, ambulance, mortar carrier, electronic warfare, and NBC reconnaissance. Powered by a Scania diesel engine with independent suspension and central tire inflation system. Germany's CAVS programme calls for approximately 1,000 vehicles to be delivered from the late 2020s with significant German industrial participation.
