Overview
The Mi-17 Hip-H is a medium twin-turbine utility helicopter produced by Kazan Helicopters, combining the airframe of the Mi-8 with upgraded engines. Powered by two Klimov TV3-117MT turboshafts each producing 1,454 kW, it lifts 4,000 kg internally or 5,000 kg externally. Azerbaijan operates the Mi-17 in the medium utility transport role, supporting troop insertions, logistics resupply, and casualty evacuation. Its excellent performance at altitude and in hot conditions makes it well-suited for operations in the Caucasus mountain environment.
