Overview
The Mi-35M is a modernized Russian export attack helicopter based on the Mi-24 Hind airframe. Key improvements include shortened non-retractable stub wings, night-capable GOES-342 electro-optical targeting system, new rotor blades, and compatibility with 9M120 Ataka ATGMs. Two Klimov TV3-117VMA engines provide 1,600 kW each. Azerbaijan operates the Mi-35M in the armed escort and close air support roles, providing day/night precision fires in support of ground operations and as an escort for Mi-17 troop transport formations.
