Overview
The Matador is a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle developed by the Paramount Group of South Africa. Based on a 4x4 configuration with a V-shaped monocoque hull, it provides STANAG Level 2 ballistic protection and Level 2b mine protection. The Matador seats up to ten personnel and can mount various weapon stations including 12.7mm HMG or anti-tank missile launchers. Azerbaijan uses the Matador for convoy protection, special operations support, and rapid reaction force deployments in difficult terrain.
