Overview
The JF-17 Thunder Block III is the most advanced variant of the Pakistan-China jointly developed multirole fighter. It features the KLJ-7A active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, a wide-area display cockpit, and a helmet-mounted display system enabling high-off-boresight targeting. The Block III is compatible with the PL-15E long-range BVR missile and the CM-400AKG high-speed anti-surface missile. Production is ongoing at PAC Kamra, Attock. The Block III entered service circa 2020 and is rapidly replacing older variants as Pakistan's premier indigenous combat aircraft.
