Overview
The J-16 is a heavy twin-seat multirole strike fighter derived from the Su-30 family but with Chinese-developed AESA radar, avionics, and weapons. The J-16D is a dedicated electronic warfare variant with wingtip jamming pods and additional electronic attack equipment, serving as the PLAAF's Growler equivalent. Together they provide China with a potent deep-strike and SEAD/DEAD capability.
