Overview
Infra Red Imaging System Tail/Thrust Vector-Controlled — a family of ground-based air defense systems derived from the proven IRIS-T air-to-air missile. The SLM (Surface Launched Medium Range) provides area air defense with the IRIS-T missile boosted to 40 km range and 20 km altitude, guided by the Hensoldt CEAFAR AESA multifunction radar and TRML-4D surveillance radar. The SLS (Surface Launched Short Range) provides point defense to 12 km using the base IRIS-T missile with an EO/IR fire control system. Both systems feature 360-degree engagement capability and high resistance to countermeasures through the imaging infrared seeker. Achieved worldwide recognition for exceptional combat performance in Ukrainian service, intercepting Russian cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and drones with very high success rates.
