Overview
Fifth generation of Israel's pioneering Gabriel anti-ship missile family, which traces its lineage to the Gabriel Mk I — one of the world's first operational anti-ship missiles that achieved historic success in the 1973 Yom Kippur War naval battles. The Gabriel V is a long-range (250+ km) turbojet-powered sea-skimming anti-ship missile with GPS/INS mid-course guidance and active radar/imaging infrared dual-mode terminal seeker for high resistance to countermeasures and accurate target classification. Features a sea-skimming flight profile with terrain-following for coastal targets, evasive terminal manoeuvres, and a 150 kg semi-armour-piercing warhead. Can also function as a land-attack missile with pre-programmed waypoint navigation. Deployed on Sa'ar 6 corvettes as the primary anti-ship weapon. The Gabriel family remains one of the most successful anti-ship missile lineages in naval history.
