Military derivative of the Airbus H160 medium twin-engine helicopter, selected under France's HIL (Hélicoptère Interarmées Léger) programme to replace seven legacy types (Gazelle, Alouette III, Dauphin, Panther, Fennec, and Cougar) across all three French armed services. Features Blue Edge five-blade main rotor with distinctive double-swept tips for reduced noise, Safran Arrano 1A engines, a modern glass cockpit with NVG compatibility, and a modular mission system. Variants include armed reconnaissance, naval, special operations, and training. 169 helicopters ordered with first deliveries to the Army expected from 2027.
